VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
AT THE AMHERST SURVIVAL CENTER

At the Amherst Survival Center, 250 volunteers every week help deliver basic needs services to thousands of our neighbors who visit the Center.
Now thru September
is a busy time for us
. If you think you can make a commitment (2-3 hours a week) in the summer (excluding vacation times) and you'd like to help connect our neighbors to food, clothing, healthcare, and community, we have a volunteer opportunity for you!
Volunteer Opportunities at the Center Include:
WEEKLY INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERING: 2-3 HOURS/WEEK ***
- in the kitchen (chefs, servers, dishwashers)
- in the food pantry (stockers, shoppers)
- in the community store (sorters, organizers)
- fresh food recovery (drivers to pick up donated food from local farms and businesses around 8-9:30am)
- in fresh food distribution (organizers, distributors, breaking down cardboard)
- at reception (greeters)
OFF SITE GROUP/INDIVIDUAL OPPORTUNITIES
- Mobile food program food distributors (first Wednesday of the month from 1-2pm)
- Food/Personal Hygiene/Pet Food/Diaper Drives: you can host a drive!
ON-SITE GROUP/INDIVIDUAL OPPORTUNITIES
- Build-A-Bag Workshops: help us make our own reusable bags!
- Diaper-Bricking: help us prepare diapers for distribution
- Adopt-A-Morning: help the Center get ready to open, weekdays 9AM-11AM
- Unload-A-Food-Truck: Monday afternoons 2:30PM-4PM
