You're paddling along the edge of the marsh, searching for the Terrapin that just ducked under the bank. In the calm water you can see the bottom, but he's still eluded you. You sit back in your kayak and look up at the sky which is that deepest, purest blue that only happens on perfect summer days. The breeze tousles the heads of the cord grass. You hang your feet over the edge of your kayak, swish them back and forth, and take a sip from your water bottle. And with each call of the sea gulls soaring above you, the memories of this scary, stressful, frustrating, heart-breaking spring fade further and further from your mind.
Working together we can makes this scene a reality.
Stay safe and well see you soon!

The Hard Way
There's an insurance slogan that goes something like, "We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two." This will be our 22nd year at the Fenwick Island State Park and our 24th year since we started doing tours as Coastal Kayak. While we certainly have not seen everything, and we are always, always discovering how much we don't know, we have learned a thing or two over the years. But most of our lessons, we had to learn the hard way. We've written a couple of them down and plan on continuing the series. I'm afraid we'll always have material!
Staying Safe
All stay-at-home-orders exclude going outside for exercise. Doctors know the benefits of getting outside. It boosts immunity, decreases fatigue, reduces inflammation, decreases anxiety, and the list goes on and on. Of course, now this all needs to be done while following the social distancing recommendations.
While kayaking and paddle boarding fit the social distancing guidelines perfectly, this time of year, you've got to keep a few things in mind: How to Dress for Paddling this Spring
