Hello
This week we start into our final month of the Summer Season. It goes by faster each year!
This week's bag features some cooler season favorites, including beets, carrots, broccoli, and even concord grapes.
Above is a photo from years back when we did a lot of cooking classes. Beets had always been a puzzle to many customers. We used to host an event called Beet Beet Revolution at the Grovewood Tavern. One of the favorite dishes was a cold version of borsch - a traditional Eastern European beet stew. Borsch takes on many shapes and flavors depending on where it is from; this version, was a Lithuanian version called Saltibarsciai. Here's the recipe.
In this week's Newsletter
-
Oktoberfest - our farm kitchen is busy cranking out promotional flavors for the week.
-
Spinach - first of our "winter crops," coming a tad early
-
Fall Flavors back in Stock - Apple Cider, Pumpkin Bread, and Apple Pie
Thanks, and cheers to another tasty week!
