The Niagara County Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is a wonderful opportunity for the youth of our community to gain meaningful work experience while earning money. In addition, youth are able to cultivate the life skills, attitudes, and commitment necessary to succeed in today’s world of work.

The SYEP is designed to provide youth exposure to various career industries, and the opportunity to interact with dynamic working professionals in a positive work environment.

This year, because of the pandemic, the program does not have a sufficient number of worksites to accommodate the number of youth have applied. If your workplace is able to participate in the program, please fill out the Worksite Request form, found here , and return it to Niagara County Employment & Training.

Wages for the participating youth are paid directly to the youth, not the business, and are funded by a federal grant, so worksites incur no expense for taking part in the program. Potential opportunities for the youth may be in clerical, day care, maintenance, cleaning, program aides, or a multitude of other work options.

We hope you will consider being a part of this invaluable program!
