For many young people in San Francisco, summer can feel uncertain, with fewer routines, limited guidance, and not enough safe spaces to turn to. From our Safe Sex Summer event series, which provides essential sexual health education and resources, to Fresh Fridays, where youth receive hygiene kits and support to feel confident and seen, 3rd Street continues to create consistent points of connection, year-round. Let’s keep showing up, speaking up, and building spaces where youth feel supported, empowered, and ready to thrive this summer and beyond!

Pride Run Recap: Showing Up for LGBTQIA+ Youth

We were proud to be this year’s beneficiary of the 45th Annual San Francisco Pride Run, hosted by SF Front Runners in Golden Gate Park! The event was a powerful celebration of community, resilience, and solidarity with LGBTQIA+ youth. Every step taken and every dollar raised helps us provide health care, housing, counseling, and leadership opportunities for youth ages 12–27 across San Francisco.

Special thanks to SF Front Runners, our elected leaders, and everyone who came out to support and stand with our youth!

Mentors in Healthcare: Meet Marcus

Meet Marcus, one of the founding youth of 3rd Street Youth Center & Clinic and a current board member. A proud Bayview Hunters Point native, Marcus helped lay the foundation of 3rd Street at just 17 years old.Today, he continues to empower the next generation as a mentor for our Health Core Fellowship program, a Para Educator at Thurgood Marshall High School, and the Black Student Union (BSU) Advisor.

At 3rd Street Youth Center & Clinic, youth are at the heart of everything we do. We are dedicated to offering services that align with their needs and empower them to build the lives they envision. Our space is designed to be safe and compassionate, allowing youth ages 12 to 24 to share openly without fear of judgment.

Staff Highlight: Meet Carly
