Let us Know!
Please take a minute or two of your day to fill out our Extended Day Parent Summer Survey! You may have received this already in a separate email, so don't bother to fill it out twice. Did You Know?
All summer long your children have been part of our PBIS Initiative. What is PBIS?? It stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. In short, we make sure to catch everyone doing GOOD! For positive expected behaviors, as well as students going above and beyond what is expected, we pass out Wildly Wonderful Winner Tickets! Students are able to give them to staff too!! Every week student names are drawn to be able to pick something from our FABULOUS PRIZE BOX! The baseroom with the most tickets received gets a special class treat (freezies, donuts, etc...they choose). We've given and received over 2000 tickets this summer! How WONDERFULLY WILD is that?

WEEK 10
Even though it's our last week, the fun doesn't stop! On Monday we will have our BOOK BLAST! It is the culmination of our partnership with the Washington County Library's Book Wocky Program! Names will be drawn to win tickets to a Twins Game, the State Fair, Crayola Experience, or Sea Life!
Tuesday and Wednesday offer field trips. Tuesday grades 3 and 4 are headed to the BIG THRILL FACTORY!! At Big Thrill Factory they make FUN happen by delivering MEMORABLE experiences in a UNIQUE entertainment center.
Wednesday grades K-2 are off to LOOKOUT RIDGE: Where a themed, life-like design and sound effects accompany slides, forests, a tree house, and even a cave. Crayola Crayon Day on Thursday will be a BIG splash of color!

Finally our last day of summer programming takes us all to Saints North for an afternoon of skating, food, and mini golf fun! Skating, lunch, and mini golf are included with the field trip. Many students bring money to spend on extra food treats, arcade games, or souvenirs. It is completely your choice. Students are responsible for their own money.

PEEK BACK AT Week 9 Our Lucky Losers for the food shelf competition were: The Staff!! Students voted for Phoenix, Peggie, Katie, Ella, and and Brett to receive the pie honors!! We drew names of students of those who were interested to deliver the sweet splats. Sadly, our water day had to be cancelled due to a fairly significant storm passing through, but it was still messy good fun!!
Tuesday was Pajama and Movie Day! Everyone looked so snuggly and comfy! If students preferred not to watch a movie, we had plenty of other choices!

The Twins Game was a really good time. Even though our team lost it was a great day!
On Thursday the woodworking held everyone's interest. No two projects were alike and they are wonderfully useful in the kitchen or dining room!

Friday the K-2 baserooms went to SideKick Theater in Bloomington to see "Fantastic Mr. Fox!" This is a 1970 children's book by Roald Dahl. The story is about a fox who steals food each night from three mean and wealthy farmers. They are fed up with Mr. Fox's theft and try to harm him, so they dig their way into the foxes' home, but the animals are able to outwit the farmers and live underground.
Good Things to Know
Clothing and accessories:

Field Trip T-shirts ! This week: Grades 3-4 on Tuesday, August 13. Grades K-2 on August 14. All students on Friday, August 16. PLEASE! ALWAYS make sure your child has their field trip t-shirt to wear on field trip days! It is for their safety and staff's peace of mind.

Footwear: Tennis shoes!! Tennis shoes!! Flip-flops, slides, and sandals are a great summer shoe, but are NOT great for the activities we do in Extended Day. A big part of our day is being active! Field trips, the gym, and outside all require a sturdier, safer shoe for the walking, running, and exploring that we do every day! Please send your student with tennis shoes!
