Did You Know?
Accidents happen! When those pesky bathroom mishaps occur it can be embarrassing and stressful for children to ask for help. We have borrowed some clothes from the health office, but they are gone now. Please! Even if your child has not had an accident in YEARS, please send a change of clothes for them to keep in their locker or in their backpack -as long as they bring their backpack every day. Thank you!!!

CAMPS AND CLUBS FOR WEEK 6

Candy Science: Sweetness!! Do you like candy? Who doesn’t, right? In this camp we will use real science to understand our sweet treats a little better! The different ingredients in candy, plus heat, plus agitation (stirring) cause different chemical and physical reactions to create delicious, edible, sweet delights. We will Make Observations. Form Questions. Form Hypotheses, Conduct Experiments, Analyse the Data, and Draw Conclusions! In other words, we will make candy and learn a few things in the process! Join us!

There are many famous puppets: Kermit and all his Muppet friends, Howdy Doody from your grandparents era, and many others. During our camp we will create at least one of each of these and write and put on a fabulous PUPPET SHOW!!

Outdoor Investigators: So much to see!! An Outdoor camp is a wonderful way for children to spend a week of their summer while learning to wonder, discover, explore, and play. Childhood is the perfect time to solidify your kids' love of the outdoors that will give them the skills and support they need to take their love of the outdoors well into adulthood. We will explore the plants and animals and environment that exist here, outside in our schoolyard. We will look at the big picture, and the teeny, tiny bits of that big picture.

PEEK BACK AT WEEK 5
We started off with a couple of terrific field trips. The Mill City Museum is full of fun for the kids. They get to go to the observation floor and see for miles! They learn a little history about Minneapolis too! Our day at Como Pool was a mixed bag. The rain got a little chilly, but we all stuck it out and had a good time. Wheels Day got rained out, but we rescheduled and wheeled like crazy!! We culminated our Book-a-Wocky program with a visit to the Washington County Library. We read every single day over the summer. It's a great way to keep kids ready for the school year! Read at home too!! It's great for the kiddos!
Good Things to Know
Clothing and accessories:

Field Trip T-shirts! This week grades K-2 on Friday!! PLEASE! ALWAYS make sure your child has their field trip t-shirt to wear on field trip days! It is for their safety and staff's peace of mind.

Suits and Towels : This week 3-4th grades go to Cascade Bay on Tuesday! Suits and towels please!! Please make note of all water days and days we have field trips to pools or water parks. Your child will be highly disappointed if they don't have swimwear and a towel so that they can join in!

Footwear: Tennis shoes!! Tennis shoes!! Flip-flops, slides, and sandals are a great summer shoe, but are NOT great for the activities we do in Extended Day. A big part of our day is being active! Field trips, the gym, and outside all require a sturdier, safer shoe for the walking, running, and exploring that we do every day! Please send your student with tennis shoes!
