Your Leadership Team: a few bits and pieces from my perspective (Jane). Next week, from their own perspectives!
PEGGIE ANDERSON
Peggie has worked for Extended Day since the beginning. Many of you are very familiar with her because she has been the Site Supervisor at Oneka for many years now. She knows about everything there is to know about the building, programming, and procedures.

STEPHANIE KANE-BURBACK
Stephanie is the Site Supervisor at Birch Lake Elementary. She is here for the summer as part of the leadership team. At Birch she works with the Bearfun program, and of course with the rest of the Extended Day family. She has experience with special needs and has so many great ideas.

SHEILA HIGGINS
Sheila is the Activity Leader here at Oneka. She works tirelessly with Peggy to keep the site running year round. She knows what we do, how we do it, when, where, and why more than anyone else I know. She keeps the the school bright with her wonderful smile.

JANE TUTTLE
Well, this is a little odd. My perspective about myself. For now, let me share that I am the Site Supervisor at Willow and am here for the summer. I have a degree in Elementary Education and have worked with children in many capacities for nearly 40 years. Your children are my priority and I want them to all know how wonderful, capable, and special they are. I love to share stories, books, and creative processes with your kiddos..
Did You Know?
The safety, well being, and health of your children is the most important part of our programming. This is more important than any activity, field trip, or project. We work hard to protect your children from any source of potential harm. Each and every child is equally important in our eyes. Sometimes we have to make adjustments to our day to make sure that everyone has the best opportunity for success. We follow district wide protocols to make this happen. Please know that EVERY child is in our scope of care and concern. No exceptions. Please come to us with any questions or needs!

CAMPS AND CLUBS FOR WEEK 8

Breakfast Around the World: Getting off to a great start every day requires a GREAT BREAKFAST! Did you ever stop to think about what the word means? It’s right there: “Break”: to stop or interrupt; and “Fast”: eating no food for a period of time, like overnight, when you’re sleeping. So, the word itself explains what we are doing! We will dig out our international cookbooks and make some delicious breakfasts indicative of different cultures. We will compare and contrast the different foods and flavors with our own typical breakfasts! Come and enjoy several Breakfasts of Champions!!
Who: Grades 3-4
When: Monday thru Thursday
Time : 10:00 AM

Jump Camp Jump roping seems simple, right? However, there are tricks and games you can do to make this seemingly boring exercise a fun way to get your body moving - double dutch, long ropes, short rope tricks - we will learn them all! Students will receive a jump rope!
Who : Grades K-2
When: Monday thru Wednesday

It's SLIME DAY! We will be using different recipes to make a variety of different slimes! GOOEY GOOD FUN!

PEEK BACK AT WEEK 7
What happened last week? Lots of fun, that's what!!
Our field trip to Feed my Starving Children was a great success! We helped to pack thousands of meals that will be sent to people in need around the world. It was a great day on Tuesday when the K-2 kiddos went to Como Pool and made a BIG SPLASH! The Stuffed Animal Pet show was a HUGE event! It was amazing to see all the animals that were brought in! Circus Juventas was spectacular! Our kiddos were impressed by the young people doing acrobatics and aerial stunts. Finally, on Friday, we made our own pizza for lunch and had our Bike Rodeo! Making pizza was so much fun! The students did a great job! The results were delicious! Afterwards the weather cleared from the stormy morning to a sunny afternoon and we got miles of riding in around the building!
Good Things to Know
Clothing and accessories:

Field Trip T-shirts ! This week: All students on Thursday, plus 3-4 on Friday. PLEASE! ALWAYS make sure your child has their field trip t-shirt to wear on field trip days! It is for their safety and staff's peace of mind.

Suits and Towels : This week grades K-2 grades go to Battle Creek Waterworks on Friday! Suits and towels please!! Please make note of all water days and days we have field trips to pools or water parks. Your child will be highly disappointed if they don't have swimwear and a towel so that they can join in!

Footwear: Tennis shoes!! Tennis shoes!! Flip-flops, slides, and sandals are a great summer shoe, but are NOT great for the activities we do in Extended Day. A big part of our day is being active! Field trips, the gym, and outside all require a sturdier, safer shoe for the walking, running, and exploring that we do every day! Please send your student with tennis shoes!
