Summer at Pendleton Place: It Takes a Community

A Note From Our Executive Director 💌

If you've spent any time outside lately, you know summer has officially arrived! Along with the heat comes a busy season at Pendleton Place.

We're organizing projects, planning activities to keep our young people engaged during the long summer days, preparing for hurricane season (while hoping we don't need those supplies), and finding new ways to make our homes feel even more like home.

Keep scrolling for a few ways you can jump in. Whether you have a few hours to volunteer, an experience to donate, or simply want to follow along and cheer on our young people, you're part of what makes this community special.

You'll also read about our new Fresh Fridays volunteer initiative, the launch of our Wardrobe Collective donation portal, ways to help us prepare for storm season, and a fun evening at Fluor Field made possible by our friends at TD SYNNEX. We're also sharing a story that reminds us why this work matters.

Thanks for continuing to show up for the young people we serve. Every act of kindness, whether it's giving your time, sharing resources, or creating opportunities for new experiences, helps build a brighter future. I look forward to seeing you on a Fresh Friday. Keep cool and keep showing up!

Fresh Fridays: Caring for the Place Young People Call Home

Sometimes supporting young people starts with caring for the place they call home.

This summer we're launching Fresh Fridays, a new volunteer opportunity where individuals, families, businesses, churches, and civic groups can spend a few hours helping us care for our homes and programs.

Projects may include cleaning, organizing, light handyperson projects, assembling supplies, and tackling the behind-the-scenes work that helps our spaces stay welcoming, safe, and comfortable.

No long-term commitment is required, just a willingness to lend a hand.

Interested in joining us? We'd love to welcome you to an upcoming Fresh Friday.

Introducing the Wardrobe Collective

Everyone deserves to feel confident in what they wear whether they're heading to a job interview, their first day of school, or simply getting dressed for the day.

The Wardrobe Collective is a new way for individuals and businesses to help meet the clothing needs of the young people we serve. Members can choose how they'd like to help, whether that's taking a young person shopping alongside a staff member,

purchasing items from a wish list, providing gift cards, making a financial contribution, or responding to special requests as they arise.

It's a simple way to make sure every young person has clothing that fits, meets their needs, and helps them feel confident as they take their next steps.

Interested in joining the Wardrobe Collective? We'd love to have you.

Help Us Prepare Before the Storm

Hurricane season reminds us that preparation matters.

We're building our emergency supply inventory so we're ready to support the young people in our care when severe weather arrives.

Our Amazon Wish List includes items for preparation and organization.

Preparing before a storm means we can focus on what matters most when one arrives: keeping young people safe.

Join Us for an Evening at the Ballpark

There's something about a summer evening at Fluor Field. âš¾

We're excited to partner with TD SYNNEX for a special evening with the Greenville Drive, where community members, supporters, staff, and young people can enjoy a night together at the ballpark.

July 21st, 2026, from 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm

For many of the young people we serve, experiences like these are about more than baseball. They're a chance to relax, connect, laugh, and simply enjoy being part of the community.

We'd love for you to join us!

By purchasing a ticket, you'll enjoy a great evening at the ballpark while helping create meaningful experiences for the young people of Pendleton Place. We hope to see you there!
