ST VINCENT DE PAUL THANKS YOU for your donations to the special collection taken for SVdP on the third Sunday of the month. Without your support, we could not provide material aid to residents of St James parish who call the SVdP Helpline. Whether you drop a single dollar bill or many dollars into the SVdP collection basket, mail us a check or donate to SVdP at the St James website online, we know it is important to you to help our neighbors in need. Each time we make a home visit to one of those neighbors, we have the privilege of accepting their deep gratitude for your help. Information, Jo Ann Wiesner, 206-291-4012 or wiesnerjo@gmail.com.
WORLD REFUGEE DAY IS JUNE 20 World Refugee Day draws global attention to the plight of millions of refugees—individuals forcibly displaced from their homes due to various forms of conflict, violence, or persecution. The Catholic Church champions a clear message of compassion and solidarity, which is rooted in its call to “welcome the stranger.” The U.S. Bishops partnered with Princeton University to create an oral history archive that features the stories of more than 165 migrants who were forced to flee from their homes and whom eventually found their way to the United States. These stories provide insights into the challenges that these migrants face every day, the fortitude they demonstrate to overcome these obstacles, and their experiences starting a new life. Take an opportunity to listen to these oral histories, share them with your friends, and learn about the lives of migrants who now live and work in your communities. VISIT THE CATHEDRAL COLUMBARIUM A columbarium is a cemetery for the reverent burial of cremated remains. The way we honor the mortal remains of our deceased family members and friends is a reflection of the faith we profess in the Nicene Creed: we believe in the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. The columbarium is open for prayer whenever the Cathedral is open.

PARTNERS IN THE GOSPEL is a strategic and pastoral planning effort taking place across the Archdiocese of Seattle in the coming months. Most of our parish and mission churches will become part of a “parish family” under a single pastor. Each family will be served by one, two, or more priests. This past week a “Current Reality” video was released, which explains more about the changing realities for the Church in western Washington and how Partners in the Gospel will help us respond to the times. Visit https://archseattle.org/partners/ to find out more, and please pray for the success of this Archdiocesan effort.
