Sensory-Friendly Movie Offerings
AMC Movie Theatres is partnered with Autism Society to bring sensory-friendly films to their theatres. Showings are available on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month. Lights get turned up, sound is turned down, and you can get up, dance, walk, shout or sing!
Mattel Adds Two Barbies with Disabilities to New Line of Dolls
Mattel has added a new line of Fashionista Barbies to its lineup of Barbie Dolls. These dolls will include different body sizes as well as two dolls with disabilities--a wheelchair user and a Barbie with a removable prosthetic leg. According to Mattel's V.P. of Barbie Design, Kim Culmone, these dolls are another step toward a more inclusive toy, representing the diversity of its customers.
