This summer why not deepen your photography by making a series or sequence of images. Do you want to go from making 'singles' to creating a series or storyline with your photos...or possibly begin a body of work? Then I put out this challenge - get started and let me know what you're up to.Making one good photograph (we'll call it a 'single') is a good thing; it can be a product of either skill, luck or both. Creating a series is more deliberate and it calls different skills out of us. But we can all do it and if yours is selected it'll be featured on my blog or in this newsletter - if enough people are interested and want help to take up the challenge I will put together a micro workshop or two to help move our process along.
Contact me if you're interested and/or want to offer feedback with the mini poll below.
My work is meant to convey the spiritual essence of a place. It's a reflection of a life long spiritual journey and my attempt to bring some light into this world.
This project is a work in progress that's evolved from growing up in the great forests of the Pacific Northwest. The photographs in'Light in the Forest' are an expression of the deep love I feel for the natural world - of the gratitude that I feel for the joy and healing these forests have given me - of my relationship to them.
Not all photo projects, series or sequences proceed in a straight line. Many, like this one, are built by returning time and again to the same place to build trust. That is the case with my series, 'Light in the Forest'
Photograph what you love and keep returning to it. Have a great summer.
One on one coaching sessions are now 20% off regular price for any returning students. Use these sessions to zero in on areas of your photography you'd like to strengthen or explore. Each session is completely personalized and includes a 15 minute phone call beforehand to discuss your interests. This offer ends July 30th, 2017.
Many thanks for taking a look at my newsletter. You're welcome to email me with suggestions for future content, feedback, or just to say hi and keep in touch. Until then, enjoy the good weather.
all the best
