SUMMER FUN
Summer Learning Challenge isn't just about reading, it's also our biggest time of year for fun programs, activities, community events and so much more! Here's a snippet of some of the things happening in your library and community this summer:

FRI JUN16, 6-8pm
Ever wondered what the library is like after closing and decked out for camping? Kids and families are invited in after-hours to enjoy camping activities, crafts, stories and songs!

FRIDAYS, 11am
Learn about Great Americans through stories and crafts. On June 16 we will learn about Children’s Authors and on June 23 we'll celebrate the Pride movement.

Tuesdays at 10am starting June 20
Join us for all ages Storytimes at a different Redwood City park each week

Four performances at Downtown Library, Magical Bridge Playground and Redwood Shores Branch Library

CELEBRATE PRIDE MONTH
June is Pride Month, and while we celebrate our LGBTQIA+ neighbors all year, it's a special time of year to champion inclusion and wellness for LGBTQIA+ folks. Below you will find staff pick booklists, events and links to community partners.

NEWS FROM THE FRIENDS
Catch up on the last of your Spring cleaning and come to the Friends of the Redwood City Public Library Donation Event on Saturday, June 17 from 10am-12pm.

Where: Behind the Downtown Library

Wanted Items: Books in very good condition. Friends especially needs donations of children's books.

Please bring items in bags or boxes that you will leave. If you have a small donation, you can bring the materials inside the Downtown Library to the donation bin near the Friends Bookstore. Our volume of donations has dropped significantly so we greatly appreciate all donations!

Kid Makers: Pop-Up Chemistry

We hypothesize that young scientists aged 9-12 will love visiting our Makerspace on the second Saturday of every month (including this Saturday, June 10) to conduct hands-on experiments with members of the American Chemical Society! 

Celebrating Immigrants

Let’s explore innovative ways to celebrate our immigrant communities! Learners of all ages welcome. Presented in collaboration with the San Mateo County Office of Community Affairs and San Mateo County Poet Laureate Emerita Aileen Cassinetto.
