May-June 2021
Greetings!
Summer is here. Fresh fruit, colorful flowers, sunshine, festivals, farm stands, carnivals, food trucks, golf and family get togethers. I could go on and on. Especially with the all went through last summer. I do not even want to look back at those memories. Let us just move on and consider this year a do over. I want to really focus on the good, how we survived, what we learned and what was new in our world. I know in our community people took an extra step to care about one another. It felt like everyone had a sense of compassion and understanding. Kindness goes along way and I hope in your world some good came out of this hopefully distant memory.

The MEDC and The Village of Montgomery looks forward to the great things they will provide to our local businesses of all sizes, the continued development of Montgomery and the MEDC.
Congratulations to Scott Vickers as he retires & Welcome To Steve Jungermann.
Steve Jungermann
After 30 years at Old Second National Bank, Scott Vickers is retiring. Scott Vickers was born and raised in Montgomery, and can always tell you a story about the good ole Days. Scott has a long history in the region and was responsible for the openings of both the Fox Valley branch and the Oswego branch. He has served on both the Montgomery Economic Development Board and the Oswego Economic Development organization for many years. He is especially loved by the Business Community. His absence will surely be a loss, but of course he deserves to have fun! You will be missed, Mr. Vickers! When talking to his boss for over 30 years, Mr. Don Pilmer, he duly noted there is no actual way to ever replace someone like Scott Vickers. He surely said that right!
Village trustee Steve Jungermann comes to the MEDC with a lot of knowledge and understanding of the development process. With a horticulture background, he surely understands the landscape of the development process. In addition to this he has spent years on the planning and zoning board of the appeals and has also served as a Village trustee for the last seven years. Steve has always been a strong supporter of the MEDC and has helped with many projects. Welcome aboard Steve! Steve is replacing Denny Lee on the MEDC Board who recently retired from the Village Board. Steve has volunteered at the MEDC golf outings for years and has been a huge help in the development of Montgomery and our future.

Why Kiannis
First Meeting held in Sugar Grove on Thursday, May 20.
golf_event6.jpg

Last year, in spite of Covid, we had over 94 golfers and an additional 21 people who joined us at the event. Our trophies included monogrammed wine bottles, Yeti cups and wine tasting certificates. The raffle prizes included trucks, a series of sports attire and a lot of great business vouchers from the community. Steak dinner, lunch and drinks were all included. NOT ONE person got sick or touched by the virus. We are indeed blessed and look forward to another exciting event.

Hockey Stick Prize
Our sponsors help support and cover the costs of our entire golf event. They also contribute some great raffle prizes. Last year Old Dominion brought us an autographed Blackhawk hockey stick with Blackhawk spirit wear. We always include a taste of Montgomery and the region so our businesses can be visited by our businesses and their clients. It is a great time to get to know all the awesome movers & shakers in town. We cannot thank everyone enough!
