Summer is finally here, and I hope you have something lovely planned, whether that means time at the cottage, a good book in the backyard, a long lunch on a patio, or a proper adventure somewhere out of town.
As for me, I’m planning to spend some quality time at the cottage this summer. It’s slowly becoming my remote workplace, which is not the worst arrangement in the world. A laptop, a lake view, and the occasional swim break? I could get used to that. Here's the view:

If you’re staying closer to home, there’s still plenty to enjoy. This month’s articles include Canada Day at Harbourfront, some of Toronto’s best picnic spots, a few Ontario trips worth adding to your summer list, and, very importantly, a roundup of great ice cream shops. Research may be required.
On the real estate side, we’re still in a buyer’s market, and summer can be an especially good time to look. There may be more room to negotiate, more time to think, and more opportunity to include the conditions that make you feel comfortable.
The next Bank of Canada rate announcement is coming up on July 15, and many buyers and sellers will be watching closely. If you’ve been waiting on the sidelines, this may be a good time to start asking questions and getting a clearer sense of what’s possible.
I currently have three active listings! The first is an elegant 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite at Bayview and Eglinton, steps from the Leaside LRT station! If you’re looking for a lease, you’ll find a sophisticated, fully furnished penthouse near Roncesvalles, and a spacious 1 bedroom unit with fabulous amenities just steps away from the Humber River.
As always, if you’d like to talk about the market, your plans, or your favourite ice cream flavour, I’m always happy to hear from you.
Take good care and toodle loo for now.

| | Canada Day at Harbourfront Centre | | |
If you’re staying in the city for Canada Day, Harbourfront Centre is always a lovely place to be. This year’s celebration includes live music, circus performances, local vendors, and plenty of waterfront wandering. A good reminder that sometimes the best holiday plans are the ones that don’t require packing a suitcase.

| | The Best Ice Cream Shops in Toronto | | |
Now, this is very important summer research. My personal favourite ice cream flavour is tiger tail, which I can usually only find when I’m at the cottage. For the uninitiated, that’s orange ice cream with black licorice swirls, and yes, I know it’s not for everyone. I also have a soft spot for Death in Venice, especially the Ricotta, Rosemary and Lemon. Picking up a pint or two from a great local shop is also such a nice way to end a dinner party. Dessert handled, everyone happy.
