H.A. Musser, Jr.,
President & CEO

I hope your summer is off to a great start! We had a very successful vaccination clinic on June 11, 2021. One hundred meals were served to participants, additional food packages were distributed to over 50 families, and 39 vaccines were administered.

We will hold another vaccination clinic at our East Price Hill location on July 2, 2021 from 12-3 p.m. Those who received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at the June 11 event will be able to get their second dose. We will also be distributing the first dose of Pfizer, or the one-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine to walk-ins.

We're also looking ahead to June 26, 2021 when we present SUMMER SAFETY FEST 2021 in Lower Price Hill. Keep reading for more information, and to find out about exciting staff changes as well as an inspirational story from one of our clients, Quatisha Jackson.
Congratulations to Jaime Mutter
We’re pleased to announce that Jaime Mutter has been promoted and accepted a new position as Every Child Succeeds Director!

Jaime has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education with a minor in English from Northern Kentucky University and Master of Arts degree in Education from Marygrove College with a focus in inclusive classrooms. Before coming to Santa Maria, Jaime taught elementary education and preschool. She also taught English Composition and Literature at Brown Mackie College. Jaime considers herself to be a lifelong learner with over 20 years in the education and nonprofit fields. She has experience in family advocacy, education, early childhood development, school readiness, and leadership.

Jaime began her career at Santa Maria as a home visitor for the Promoting Our Preschoolers (POP) program and then transitioned to a program supervisor in 2014. Through her role in Santa Maria's POP program, she has been part of the Supporting Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids (SPARK) collaborative for the last 10 years, where she has worked as a family support advocate providing kindergarten readiness and case management to families in the Price Hill neighborhood. When she came to Santa Maria 13 years ago, Jaime felt like she had finally found her home. “I have fallen in love with the Price Hill Community and the families I have worked with over the years,” Jaime said, “I feel honored to be able to grow into a leadership position while still staying committed to our mission and the families we work with.”

H.A. Musser, Jr., President and CEO of Santa Maria, welcomed Jaime to her new role, “We are excited about Jaime being promoted to this new leadership role at Santa Maria. Her 13 years of experience in our early childhood home visitation program make her highly-qualified to serve as our Every Child Succeeds Director.”

Jaime replaces Julie McGregor who was recently promoted to Chief Program Officer. Julie said, “Jaime’s wealth of experience and knowledge in early childhood, management, and the community as well as her passion for the work make her highly-qualified to serve in this position.”
Quatisha Overcomes Many Barriers to Reach her Goals with the Help of Santa Maria
Twenty-six-year-old Quatisha Jackson, and her family, struggle with disabilities and mental illness. Quatisha ended up dropping out of high school due to difficulties caused by dyslexia and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). So, when Quatisha came to Santa Maria Community Services for assistance, her first goal was to get her High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.

With HSE certificate in hand, Quatisha then enrolled in employment coaching through Santa Maria’s Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program (CCMEP). In CCMEP, Quatisha gained valuable work experience at IKRON, where she earned a certificate in food safety called ServSafe®. Continuing on this path, Quatisha also acquired a certificate and license to work in the fine dining industry with funding assistance from Santa Maria. With these certifications under her belt, she was offered a job at Duke Energy Convention Center for a management position at a fine dining establishment!

With a job secured, Quatisha wanted to learn more about finances, so she enrolled in Santa Maria’s financial coaching program where she took a finance course and learned about generational wealth and finances. In this course, with materials developed by Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University program, Quatisha learned how to use her income to overcome debt and generate wealth.

Quatisha received even more services from Santa Maria that you can read about on our blog at http://SantaMaria-Cincy.org/Quatisha. She has a lot planned for her future and knows her dreams are possible thanks to Santa Maria’s help.
