Hello August!
So far this summer has brought many delights, including the return of summer visitors, plentiful sunshine, sweet sea breezes, and a new flag for the store! We hear so many people say "I've been driving by for years and always wanted to stop and see your shop." We hope this cheerful flag will intrigue and excite passersby enough that they will stop in and see the store.

|
We also have a selection of maps, including two handsome wall maps, on show at the Rockland Trust Bank in Orleans for the month of August. They look so wonderful alongside the bank's tasteful color and decor. If you are in the area, feel free to pop into the bank to have a look!
We are in Wedding Season here in Chatham, with happy couples from near and far tying the knot at one of the many venues on Cape Cod. If you will be attending a wedding this year, perhaps an antique map would be the perfect gift to celebrate the newlyweds' love story. With so many fascinating maps available, you are sure to find the perfect gift!

|
Below, we shall highlight some exciting new maps, but you can always visit our Newly Listed Maps section to see everything from the past month or so. We have a Great Maps - Super Deals category that offers our discounted items. And don't forget that we also have a category specifically for maps under $100!
If you are looking for something specific, we recommend using the search function or the "Filter By" function on the left side above the listings to search within a category.

This is a richly detailed, antique, hand-colored map of Scotland, by Herman Moll, published by George Grierson c. 1732. After the death of Herman Moll in 1732, Grierson produced Irish editions of Moll's maps that were no longer under copyright. The map is flanked on the sides by lovely engraved illustrations of Edinburgh, Glasgow, St. Andrews, Sterling, Montrose, Aberdeen, Edinburgh Castle, Sterling Castle, Dunotyr Castle in Merns (Dunnottar Castle), The Bass, and Channery Town in Ross (Fortrose).

We have added so many phenomenal maps of Boston to our website this year, and they just keep coming! Here we have a fascinating map of the Terminal Facilities of Boston, showing the railroads and their specific wharves and Transfer Stations. It is part map, and part modern art! Below is a gorgeous older map of the city, published when the Mill Dam was still in use and the filling of Back Bay had not yet begun. It shows the Boston Neck as it was in the 1850s.
