July brought fresh faces to CCEDC's offices as we hosted nearly 40 students at our STEM Innovation Summer Career Academies.
The 10 to 14 year-old age group explored medicine and business through activities focusing on weather, TV news, forensics, animal science, and nursing. Campers participated in hands-on activities such as suturing, animal bandaging, as well as making their own bubbles and elephant toothpaste. A highlight was when our camp was featured by Bob Kelly of Fox29. He joined us and donned scrubs to interact and engage with our campers.
Meanwhile, our 15 to 17 year-old campers went on a week-long medical excursion where they visited Immaculata University, Good Fellowship Ambulance Company, Garrett Williamson Farm and more to learn about a variety of healthcare careers and pathways.
