Two Aspired Veterans Hosted a Patriotic Flag Day
Phil and Don, two veterans in their 90s who cherish the American Flag and the freedom and unity it represents, teamed up to present a rousing Flag Day ceremony at Aspired Living of Westmont, where they both live.

All of the community’s veterans were honored and each resident received a gift bag which included a Flag Day packet, a "More than Just a Piece of Cloth" packet, a pocket-sized copy of The U.S. Constitution, a pinwheel, chocolates, and an American Flag!

Outdoor movie night is an Aspired Living of Prospect Heights summertime tradition that residents and team members look forward to and love. “Dirty Dancing” recently played on a gorgeous evening to a packed patio!

During Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) Week, Pathway to Living celebrated our wonderful Life Enrichment Aides (LEAs). LEAs are always there to lend our residents a helping hand and support them however needed.

VIVAriffic Recipe
The “VIVA Way” cookbook features healthy and tasty recipes from Pathway to Living’s leadership team aimed at fueling on-the-go lifestyles. Add a little color to your world by whipping up this Mango Salsa recipe below from the cookbook.


Mango Salsa

Ingredients
  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes, chopped 
  • ½ cup finely chopped white onion
  • 1-2 jalapeno or serrano peppers, seeded and finely chopped 
  • ¼ cup finely chopped fresh cilantro leaves, no stems 
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice 
  • 2 tbs chopped red bell pepper (optional)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional) 
  • 1 ripe mango diced 
Steps 
  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl. 
  2. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least an hour for best results.
