Frank DiStefano aka "Moth Man" will headline this month's Backyard Naturalist series

Prehistoric pollinators with cryptic camouflage are all around us.

Of course, we’re talking about moths!

Did you know there are nearly two-thousand species of moths native to Pennsylvania?

Shapes and sizes run the gamut from as small as a pinhead to as large as an adult’s hand.

Internationally-recognized moth expert Frank DiStefano will introduce us to the little understood world of moths and caterpillars July 9 at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary.

He’ll share his in-depth knowledge about these diverse organisms.

Then, we’ll take a nighttime walk using UV flashlights to identify moths right here on our preserve.

This program is for adults only.
