A Letter from Herb
Summer Safety
Summer has swept in on a heat wave and we want this season’s traveling and family road trip to be your safest and best time ever. That is why Herb Chambers is recommending a quick car maintenance check list before you venture out on the open road:

“Summerizing” Steps:
  • Flush out your cooling system. This will clean out any rust, grease and residual sediment.
  • Check your AC performance. An AC that is having any number of issues can break down completely when it has to work against the summer heat.
  • Check your oil. Engines often have to work harder in the summer and oil is what makes it possible.
  • How are your tires? Check the pressure, the treads as well as the alignment. A little attention now can spare you many problems down the road.
  • Brake maintenance should never be ignored. Check brake pads, rotors and drums.
  • Keep it clean. Summer is a great time to wash, wax, and detail your vehicle.

You depend on your car to get you safely through summer. Give yourself peace of mind knowing that you took the steps to ensure safe driving. If you decide it is time to make a change and a newer vehicle is in your immediate future, then now is a great time to visit a Herb Chambers dealership.

2021 Honda Accord
By KBB.com
The Honda Accord hardly needs an introduction. It has thrived for decades and long been a benchmark for midsize sedans. The Honda Accord regularly battles the Toyota Camry for best-seller status and is a frequent winner of top accolades like the Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Award.

The Honda Accord’s winning formula? It simply does everything right, and there are enough variants to satisfy a wide variety of buyers. The Honda Accord is easy yet engaging to drive, practical, efficient, handsome, and has an enviable history of reliability and high resale value.

The 2021 Honda Accord gets a freshening that addresses some of the few weak points among prior models, such as making Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard across the lineup.

Safety Fur-st: Pet safety and fire prevention tips
Pets nationwide are considered beloved members of the family. In fact, pet ownership throughout the U.S. has skyrocketed, with approximately 12.6 million Americans opening their home to a new pet since March 2020, according to a study by the American Pet Products Association.

Whether you're a first-time pet owner or a pet pro, be sure to consider your furry family members when preparing for the unexpected. First Alert, the most trusted brand in fire safety, offers the following tips to help families be prepared in case of a fire or carbon monoxide (CO) incident.

Herb Chambers is also proud to help support these organizations.
2021 Volvo XC60
By NewCarTestDrive.com
Volvo might be known for its wagons, but in a sign of the times it’s the compact XC60 crossover that remains the brand’s best-seller. We can see the appeal: stylish, quick, and luxurious, it hits a sweet spot in an intensely competitive segment.

The 2021 XC60 welcomes several new standard features, including power-folding mirrors, adaptive LED lights, automatic high-beams, and wireless smartphone charging.

Substantial safety equipment comes standard on the XC60, including automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors with steering assist, and adaptive cruise control. Extra-cost stuff includes a surround-view camera system and Volvo’s Pilot Assist, which is a semi-autonomous feature that lets drivers momentarily remove their hands from the steering wheel.

Crash test results have been excellent. The IIHS named the XC60 a Top Safety Pick and the NHTSA awarded it a five-star overall rating.
