Community First, since 1959, has been Doing Good!
Novato Branch Move
Sometime between the end of June and the middle of July, we expect to relocate our Novato branch. It will move from its current location in a light industry area at 11 Digital Drive, near BioMarin offices, to the Nave Center, directly across from Novato’s main post office. The new address will be 1539 South Novato Blvd.

Why the move? To bring us closer to where Members live, and where people can mix other errands while they bank with Community First. Aside from the main post office, other long-time tenants in the Nave Center include the iconic Pini Hardware, Grocery Outlet, Ghiringhelli Grill, and (right next to our new space) Donut Works.

You can also expect a brand-new on-site ATM, as well as other tech upgrades.

By the June newsletter, we should be able to be more precise with our targeted opening date.

And not to worry about our local staff. They are all making the move to the new site, and are excited to serve more Novato neighbors.

Annual Meeting of the Membership Elections
On Thursday, April 15 at 3p, Community First staffers and Members met virtually for the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Membership.

Attendees heard from Board Chair, John Burke, and CEO, Todd Sheffield, who summarized the credit union’s finances, outreach and additional services our Members should expect in the near future.

Community First Members re-elected Maud Fitzpatrick and Christine Haggarty to the Supervisory Committee, as well as re-elected Arlene Colombini, Carolyn Welch, and Madelin Holtkamp to the Board of Directors. Each Board and Supervisory Committee member will serve a three-year term.

At the first Board meeting following the annual meeting, the Board elected new officers. Carolyn Welch is the new Board Chair, who will hold this position for a two-year term, Brian Cochran is the new Vice-Chair, Carel Van Den Heuvel is the Secretary, and Robert Scott is the Treasurer, all serving one-year terms.

The role of the Supervisory Committee is to ensure the assets of the Members are safe and proper controls are in place and being used. Additionally, they are responsible for the annual audit and financial statements.

The Board sets policy, approved the budget, reviews the CEO’s progress in achieving goals and objectives.

Other Supervisory Committee Members include Chair John Kuhry, Blanca Ramirez, and Dennis Rollins.

Other Board Members include John Burke, Tina Rivera, and Jason Scott.

Both the Supervisory Committee and the Board of Directors are unpaid volunteers elected by the Membership.
