Our 8-Day Silent Retreat has ended and brought us into August. July saw full retreats back to back, cabins booked week after week, all during which we had the honour to host those seeking solace, solitude and peace. In turn we are blessed by the powerful words of our guests' experiences and the spiritual gifts they take home with them.

So it is late afternoon and flowers are now at rest, having given their colour, their beauty and their fragrance to our wonderful retreatants and guests. Sage in the Sensory Garden gave its aroma, flavour and nutrients for our retreat meals, always giving...

Each stem, leaf and petal from the array of beautiful flowers are renewing under the golden sun which is now moving towards the west and itself getting ready for its own rest. With every swoosh of lake breeze the flowers drink in their own renewal, revitalization and energy to complete their bloom, preparing themselves to be transformed to whichever state in which the will gift our next group of retreatants in September... with a new round of loveliness and wonder - we are blessed.

Jane Malloy's Retirement Tea

Many thanks to everyone who contributed warm messages, beautiful artwork and nostalgic photos to the creation of the book of memories for Jane from Maryholme guests, facilitators, staff and friends.

On a sunny morning in May we held an intimate retirement tea to honour Jane's 20 years at Loretto Maryholme. There were many hugs, much laughter and even more yummies as we spent precious time recounting wonderful memories as Jane participated in planting an Eastern Redbud "Hearts of Gold" (because she has one!) tree (that blooms pink of course!), opened gifts, cards and messages.

We wished Jane every blessing in this next chapter of her life now that she gets to sleep in and spend more time with her husband Bill, her children, and many grandchildren.

Congratulations on your well deserved retirement, dear Jane!

Maryholme Pondering Place

A wonderful opportunity to be at Loretto Maryholme virtually. Nestled along the lake's bluff between the sumac grove and the opening to the Stations Walk, this lovely pond is yet another meditative feature in our sacred space brimming with bird visitations, tadpoles in the pond, and a trickling fountain that is music to one's ears - although it was filmed a little later in the season last summer, it remains truly something more than ordinary...

Our Cosmic Walk

Enjoy our 9-minute virtual experience of Loretto Maryholme's Cosmic Walk during sunset. The meditative walk begins at the edge of the savannah and winds through the property to the lake, including 18 small garden circles which are spaced in billion year segments with some segments having more than one garden station and each acknowledging an evolutionary process of creation. Loretto Maryholme's meditative Cosmic Walk is a reflection of and an act of praise to our Creator...

Dease, McMahon and Blackbird Cabins are available for personal retreats throughout the summer and autumn season. Spiritual direction is available upon request. Self-catered meals.

Edgar House and Fensom Cottage are available for group overnight retreats and day use through throughout the week. Consider time away on weekdays for professional development, ministry planning, or healing time. Self-catered meals.
