Sandwiches. Love. Dignity!

20 Years of Dignity.

Help Power What Comes Next.

For nearly two decades, Think Dignity has worked alongside our community to advance dignity, equity, and access for people experiencing homelessness in San Diego.

As we continue celebrating our 20th year, we’re launching our renewed 20 for 20 Campaign with a goal of raising $20,000 by the end of 2026 to sustain and strengthen our work across outreach, advocacy, legal support, and basic needs services.

From helping individuals secure vital identification documents through our ID Bank program, to building community through the Basic Dignity Coalition, to distributing essential supplies through Street Boutique, this work only happens because people like you continue to show up.

Every contribution helps build the next chapter of dignity in action.

Basic Dignity Coalition Meets June 16

The Basic Dignity Coalition (BDC) continues to bring together advocates, service providers, community members, and people with lived experience to address systemic barriers impacting our unhoused neighbors.

Our next coalition meeting will take place on June 16 at Father Joe’s Villages and will focus on an upcoming awareness and advocacy campaign connected to dignity, accessibility, and public infrastructure.

We are currently seeking:

  • Community canvassers
  • General, day-of volunteers
  • Policy research assistants
  • Advocacy-minded community members

Whether you’re new to advocacy or deeply engaged in systems-change work, there’s a place for you in this effort.

Together, we can continue building a San Diego where dignity is protected and accessible to all.

If you are interested in helping with policy research, civic coordination, public education and advocacy as a BDC Committee Volunteer, please contact Edward Borek, Communications Chair, at communications@thinkdignity.org to learn more and connect with our advocacy team!

About Ike’s

Exploding onto the crowded San Francisco food scene in 2007 as a small sandwich shop under the name “Ike’s Place” (founded by Ike Shehadeh), Ike’s Love and Sandwiches has been transforming the sandwich segment for over a decade. The brand has been defined by innovative offerings and iconic flavors.

Dutch Crunch bread with Ike’s secret “Dirty Sauce” is a duo unlike any other. Every location comes with exclusive sandwich offerings that are eclectically named as a tribute to local celebrities and icons. Ike’s Love & Sandwiches features sandwiches for all: meat lovers, vegetarian, vegan, halal, and gluten-free.

This year marks Think Dignity’s 20th Anniversary, and there’s much more ahead in the months to come — including our 20th Birthday Bash Celebration this fall, expanded advocacy initiatives, and new opportunities to engage with our mission.

Thank you for continuing to stand with us in advancing dignity for all.
