Growing a Greener Future:

Inside the Rudy Lozito Farming Fellowship

Learn about how the Rudy Lozito Urban Farming Fellowship is empowering young adults in West Contra Costa to cultivate sustainable farming practices and reconnect with their communities.

This six-month program, held at the North Richmond Farm, honors the legacy of former Urban Tilth staff member Rudy Lozito by providing hands-on training in organic crop production, soil health, cooking demonstrations, outdoor preparedness, and more! With a focus on accessibility, the fellowship offers not only valuable skills and certifications but also paid learning opportunities, helping participants overcome barriers to entering the agricultural field. Explore the profound impact this fellowship has had on its participants and the community at large!

Our Green Revolution in Creek Restoration &

Water Conservation

In partnership with American Rivers, The Watershed Project, and Contra Costa County, we're enhancing the ecosystem by constructing a new creek channel and planting over 500 California native plants to protect the Rollingwood community from flooding.

Additionally, our Water Conservation Project installs water-saving systems for low-income Richmond homeowners, significantly reducing water consumption and costs. We estimate, through these first 20 installs, that residents will save approximately 175,000 gallons of water each year, lowering their water bills and helping us be more resilient in a drought prone state!
