Dear friends,

He laughed like Spirit had told him a secret and maybe it had. He stood against injustice not with clenched fists, but with open hands and a bright smile. This week, we meet a rebel who knew that joy could be a form of protest, and forgiveness a form of power. He believed love always wins and he lived like he meant it. Do you know who it is?

Blessings,

Ahriana

TWO GREAT JUNE OPPORTUNITIES

SUPPORT WESTSIDE CARES

School Backpack Program

Each year, Westside CARES (WSC) provides 600 sets of school supplies and backpacks to help students on the west side of El Paso County, working through the counselors at 23 elementary, middle, and high schools. WSC buys the backpacks, and the member communities supporting Westside CARES provide the school supplies.

You are invited to support this important program by Sunday, June 29. Unity has been asked to supply 410 glue sticks for the backpacks this year. We have found a source for the glue sticks at a very competitive price, so will be ordering them for a total cost of $116.

Please consider a donation to Unity toward the cost of the glue sticks.

If you donate via cash or check, please note “WSC School Backpack Program” on your offering envelope.

Thank you, in advance, for your generosity in helping students in need receive the school supplies they need to kick off the new school year!

Please Support Westside CARES’ Food Pantry & Clothes Closet

June is one of four months annually that the Unity community is asked to provide food, toiletry, and clothing items for Westside CARES. While you may already contribute these items throughout the year, please consider giving extra this month.

If you’d like to bring your donations to Unity instead of Westside Cares, a volunteer will deliver them to Westside Cares.
