Friends,

Its hard to believe we have turned the calendar to August and our new faculty and staff will join us in just three short weeks. The campus is bustling with activity as our Summer Programs continue and our new students stop by for iPad set ups. Our House Hubs are being finished and we are eager to share the new spaces with the community at the end of the month. I am thrilled to welcome Dr. Kara Kolomitz P'26 as the Vice President for Enrollment Management. She brings with her a wealth of experience as she has spent the majority of her career in Catholic education, most recently at Regis College. (click her name to read the release on Kara!)

At the end of July, we joined Jesuit institutions around the world in celebrating the conclusion of the Ignatian Year on July 31, the Feast of St. Ignatius. The 500-year anniversary recognized the cannonball injury which led to Ignatius' conversion. Throughout the year we were asked to "see all things new in Christ" and celebrate our own cannonball moments -- those points in time when we reflected on change or great sacrifice that led us on a path to find Christ. We gathered together as a community on Monday, August 1 for a lovely mass celebrated by Fr. Don MacMillan, SJ '60 to mark the feast day and conclude the Ignatian Year.

I am thrilled to share that construction has begun on campus and phase 1 of our Campus Master Plan is officially underway! Click here to see the progress on Murphy Family Stadium and our streetscape project. I look forward to sharing our progress with you each month.

Lastly, I hope you take time to enjoy the summer. Though a bit more rain could help us, we have had a wonderful stretch of weather for our summer camps and programs to enjoy all that BC High and Columbia Point have to offer.
AMDG,

Grace Regan P'12

Report on Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
As an institution, we have committed to becoming a more inclusive, welcoming, and anti-racist community. Please find our bi-annual report on the good work happening every day on Morrissey Boulevard.

I'd like to thank Principal Adam Lewis, Dr. Ruth Evee, Lizzy Corsetti, Katie McKiernan, and Terrell Diggs for their deep commitment to ensuring this work is felt each and every day. The tireless work of our Equity Leadership Team was remarkable throughout the year as they led discussions and fostered conversation among faculty and staff. Further, we are grateful to the student leaders in S.O.A.R. for continuing the conversations among their peers as well.

I look forward to sharing another update with you next winter.
In Gratitude for Your Generosity
Thank you to our generous and loyal donors for your support in FY2022. You have helped us achieve remarkable success again this year. We are proud of the work of our community as they continued to raise the bar, set new sights, and grow and diversify the BC High family.

This past June, we said goodbye to long-time staff members Dr. Charlie Drane, Jon Bartlett '87, and Nelson Miranda '92, P'16, '18. Collectively, they served the students of BC High for nearly 75 years. They have left an indelible mark on the lives of each one of us and their presence is already missed on Morrissey Boulevard. Cadigan '52. In particular, these initiatives will transform the student experience at BC High.
A Wonderful Evening at OceanEdge
A special thank you to Mike '82 & Linda Corcoran P'17, '19 for hosting a wonderful event at OceanEdge last Thursday evening. We were joined by well over 150 alumni, parents, and friends for a gorgeous night celebrating BC High. I was so pleased to officially introduce Tom Conley '08 as our new Athletic Director and celebrate the role that athletics play in the formation of our young men. Members of the President and Principal's leadership teams were on hand to share the exciting progress that is taking place on Morrissey Boulevard.
Honoring a Milestone -- The Class of 1952 Celebrates Their 70th Reunion!
Members of the venerable Class of 1952 were on campus earlier this summer to celebrate their 70th reunion from BC High. Though they didn't spent time during their school days on Morrissey Bouelvard, we were thrilled to welcome them home for a special mass and lunch. A special thank you to Jack Leonard '52, GP'26 for his tireless work in keeping the class connected. These men embody the brotherhood that exists among our alumni.

BC Hire: Career Connections
BC Hire Career Connections has become a terrific program for our young alumni. This year, we have welcomed back alumni speakers to in-person luncheons for our current students as well. These programs help strengthen the alumni network and set BC High apart from other schools.

BC Hire Career Connections supports BC High’s current students and young alumni in securing meaningful summer jobs and internships, laying the groundwork for career success. Many of these internship opportunities are provided by the powerful BC High Alumni Network and our highly engaged parent community, while others are offered by firms in Greater Boston.

For more information, contact Kenny Delino '16, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations, kdelino@bchigh.edu or visit the BC Hire page.
