Summer theater is alive and well at
Stage Right Productions…we hope…
In the world of sheltering in place, social distancing and PPE how does a summer community theater go forward?
We’re glad you asked. Under the direction of our local authorities' best practice guidelines we will continue to work creatively within the mandates that our community leaders have put in place to support the safety of our audience members, cast and staff.

At the time of this writing, beginning May 1st the Sacramento County Health Office is allowing for “Non-contact recreational activities and facilities to operate…” as long as other protective measures are being used (including safe distancing at all times and limiting gathering of no more than 12 people).

Listed are policies Stage Right Productions will implement to support our performances in July.

Our Location :

We will continue to host our summer theater at 4000 San Juan Ave, Fair Oaks (the site of Faith Lutheran Church Recreation Hall ) only we will be outside on the back patio. Our three summer productions of, The Frog and the Princess, Willy Wonka by Kids and our all age main stage production, The Sound of Music will enjoy the night air in a comfortable shaded area adjacent to the main building.

Our audience seating will be limited and “ Social Distant Seating” will be mandated. Our concessions and restroom will remain available to our audience members while using safe practice guidelines outlined above and our amazing casts will perform these uplifting and enchanting productions in a safe and CoVid 19 aware environment.
Our Rehearsals:

Currently The Sound of Music cast and The Frog and Princess cast are rehearsing together in small groups via Zoom. The cast of The Sound of Music hopes to rehearse in small groups in person, outside beginning mid-May. See information about our plan for Willy Wonka by Kids below. We will at all times monitor Illness for those participating and attending our productions. We will require frequent hand sanitizing and provide protective barriers as needed.

Our Performances:

With strategic staging we will present our shows with safety distancing and non-contact blocking for our actors. Our actors will have access to a large, air conditioned dressing room with ample space to change costumes and prepare to enter the stage area.

We invite you to look forward with optimism and plan to attend these uplifting performances this summer. See below for details.

We find ourselves in unusual times. The impact CoVid19 has had on our community and world is unprecedented, but we must move forward with hope.
Big Day of Giving is a 24-hour online giving challenge that allows donors to support Sacramento area nonprofits. On Thursday May 7,  our region will rally around the nonprofits that make the capital area our home—and that can use our support, now more than ever. Stage Right Productions encourages you to explore all the well deserving non-profits that will help put our community back together in the coming months and year.
Our community deserves a reason to feel good.
With that in mind, we would like to share what we are currently doing at Stage Right. Take a peek at the video showing how Stage Right is
Building Community On Stage and Off
Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference for Stage Right and for other local organizations. You can even schedule your #BDOG2020 gifts ahead of May 7th
We know that monetary support may not be possible for many of our supporters right now or you may choose to support organizations that are helping people directly affected by Covid19. That's great! Other ways you can show your support to Stage Right Productions is through purchasing fireworks for July 4th at our fireworks stand, and attending our performances this summer.
While things have changed so much lately, nothing can change the Sacramento region's giving spirit!

The Frog Princess
A fun theatre performance for kids (and adults) of all ages

This delightful and funny folk tale is a clever story that reminds us all that it pays to be kind to everyone…including frogs.

Queen Natasha is tired and wants to turn over the throne to one of her three sons. But which one? Each of the sons has some, but not all, of the qualities needed to be a good king, and the queen reveals that the difference between a good king and a great king is the woman who stands next to him.

So she sends her sons off to find wives, using an arrow to guide them. Boris’s arrow leads him to the brave warrior Ursula, Casimir finds the vain and materialistic Vass and Sasha’s arrow pierces Natalia ... a frog!

Directed by Tracy Martin Shearer and exquisitely performed by talented students from American River College .  This show is for children of all ages and runs approximately 45 minutes. It's the perfect opportunity to experience the enjoyment and fun of live theater. Tickets will be sold at the door. Seating is outside and is limited due to social distance guidelines.
