Want advice from a Symetra Tour player?
When the Symetra Tour comes to town for The CDPHP Open , you can tap players' expertise at a Tuesday evening clinic. The Tips & Sips Ladies Golf Clinic on July 23 is limited to the first 32 women who sign up; the cocktail reception is open to all. Fees for each and other details are provided at this link . And of course, your LPGA Amateurs membership card gets you into the July 26-28 tournament for free.
Expand your horizons eastward to Boston Chapter events

Going national: help out at LCQ, consider The Cup
Our Local Championship Qualifier has drawn a full range of participants --organizers Cheryl Watts and Julie Naglieri report that the 24 players registered for the July 6 tournament represent all five stroke-play flights, from Championship to Fourth, and one scramble team. The event at Pinehaven Country Club is the first step in the LPGA Amateurs Championship Series: gross and net flight winners will have the opportunity to move on the the regional qualifier in Rhode Island August 3, where they'll vie for the chance to go to the finals in California in October.

Can you lend a hand? We need volunteers on July 6 for help with registration, starting and scoring, and photography (you don't need to stay the whole day). Contact us at lpgaamateurscrny@gmail.com to let us know your availability and interests.

Want another opportunity to compete at the national level? Consider the LPGA Amateurs Cup. This match play series features eight-person teams playing two-person better ball and singles matches at two-day regional tournaments this fall. But the deadline is SOON --July 15--and there are openings left for the qualifier in our region September 7-8 at Tunxis Country Club in Farmington CT (where Chapter members did well in last year's Championship Series regional). The $280 fee covers two rounds of golf and three meals.

Interested in forming a Chapter team? Golf Events Director Julie Naglieri will serve as our clearinghouse--contact her at lpgaamateurscrny@gmail.com. Or you can post your info nationally for recruitment by any team captain looking for players. Cup teams don't have to be geography- or chapter-based--anyone can play anywhere. Go to this link for detailed information about The Cup.
Who needs 14 clubs? Not these players!
Great weather added to the good fun at this year's Three-Club Challenge on June 21. The beguilingly beskorted winning team (photo) of Michelle Endries, Sally Lennon, Monica Mahar, and Wendy Rosher shot a net 34 for nine holes, using only three clubs each. Event Captain Robin Raco reports that 14 of the evening's 42 players braved the Town of Colonie Blue course without a putter.

Other winners included Closest to the Pin Hole 4, Corinne Whitlow 10’9”; Closest to the Pin Hole 8, Mary McLoughlin 11’9”; Longest Drive Hole 7:  Debbie Atlas. For full results, visit the Chapter Facebook Group page . (Not a group member yet? Click and we'll get you in.)
