College and Career Success

REACH Prep's College and Career Success programming has continued to grow since launching in 2019, and we are proud that over 50 of our college scholars have internships this summer. REACH Prep programming helped prepare students for their interviews and develop critical skills to be successful in the workplace. Our Director of College Success met with each student one-on-one to review resumes and cover letters, discuss professional paths, and connect them with as many opportunities as possible.

REACH Prep has established meaningful partnerships with a range of companies, and we are excited that 16 scholars have internships with these valued corporate partners:

Atlas Holdings, CBRE, Freepoint Commodities, Finn Dixon & Herling, Girls Who Invest, ITT Inc, Positive Sum, Tory Burch Foundation, Union Capital, and Vogo.

REACH Prep also offers workshops with our corporate partners which provide opportunities for skill development and equip our scholars with the tools they need to be successful in the workforce. Recent workshops include:

Macy's- Hosted students at the Macy’s Herald Square location for a chance to work with personal stylists who helped them pick professional attire for the office. Gift cards were provided for scholars to make their clothing purchases.

Stone Point – Employees from Stone Point worked with scholars to review and update their resumes and share resume-building best practices.

Walmart Connect- Students visited Walmart Connect headquarters in New Jersey. They attended several informative sessions covering academics to the workplace, utilizing LinkedIn, and making the most of internship opportunities.

The 30th Anniversary Family Honoree is the Serenbetz Family, who has supported REACH Prep's mission over the last 23 years with vital resources and Board service.

The Corporate Honoree, CBRE, remains a significant partner of REACH Prep and provides internship and career opportunities for older Scholars and young alumni.

Community Corner

REACH Prep is excited to announce a new partnership with NeighborShare. NeighborShare is a nonprofit tech platform that enables donors to quickly and easily help a household in need within an ecosystem of trust. Donors can give directly to a specific household using the “Browse Needs” page on the website.

Our primary mission is to remove barriers to education access for our students. However, some students and families we work with are in urgent need of assistance with basic needs, which we refer to as emergency student costs. We have partnered with NeighborShare to urgently fundraise and cover these costs for necessities such as groceries, bills, and transportation.
