New Solar Oregon Staff

Solar Oregon welcomes Laura Buska and Daegan Palermo to the team!

Laura relocated from southeastern Wisconsin in 2024, bringing a background in nonprofit program management, event planning, volunteer coordination, and grant writing. With five years of environmental education projects under her belt, she is excited to channel her talents into advancing Solar Oregon’s mission.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute.

Now based in Portland with her partner and two cats, Laura spends her free time exploring the Pacific Northwest, enjoying books and films, traveling, and volunteering for animal and environmental causes.

Originally from Eugene, Daegan is thrilled to be back in Oregon after a rewarding stint in California as an actor, improviser, and teacher.

Driven by a deep curiosity about sustainability, he recently pivoted his career into the energy sector, where he focuses on the evolving challenges of clean energy.

Daegan is currently capping off this transition by completing a graduate certificate in Energy Policy and Management at Portland State University.

In his free time you can find him outside biking, hiking, and camping. He also loves trying new food and sharing adventures with his friends, family, partner, and young son.

With these new arrivals, we are also saying a heartfelt goodbye to Aby Jaegal and Nicole Maticic. Solar Oregon is incredibly grateful for their dedication and hard work, and for the momentum they have built during their years with the organization. We wish them great success in all their next endeavors!
