Meeting inspiration!
Don, '77, and Jennifer Follis (former student) are shown here with President Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter, where in June they visited Jimmy Carter's Sunday School class in Plains, GA. (Don, a 40-year pastor in east-central Illinois, is the director of Pastor-to-Pastor Initiatives in Champaign-Urbana, IL; Jennifer is a professor in the College of Media at the University of Illinois.) Don writes the Sunday religion column for the Champaign-Urbana, IL, News-Gazette, where he wrote about attending Carter's Sunday School class along with another sobering column about visiting a new memorial in nearby Montgomery, AL, dedicated to the nearly 5,000 African-Americans lynched in the U.S. from 1870 to 1950.
