Senior Awards for Class of 2019

At the end of every school year, the Senior class participates in an awards night where the Seniors are celebrated and scholarships are awarded. Seneca Past and Present is involved in this event every year. For the last three years we've joined with the PTSA and Joe Durbin ('70) to make sure as many scholarship applicants as possible receive funds. This year's scholarship recipients are:

Eirene Rodriguez - Seneca Past and Present Scholarship
Jessica Garcia - Seneca Past and Present Scholarship
Deonna Perry - Seneca Past and Present Honorable Mention Award
Brendon Cameron - Seneca Past and Present Scholarship
Marcus Davis - Seneca Past and Present Runner-Up Award

The 3rd Annual LT Joseph Laymon Durbin Scholarship was awarded to:

Tabarek Kadhim
Jessica Garcia

In addition to the normal scholarship offerings, the Class of 2019 was treated to an extra boost, courtesy of the Class of 1969 on the occasion of their 50th reunion. The Class of 1969 wanted to award in a big way - and award they did!  Fourteen Class of 2019 scholars received a scholarship of $1969 - EACH! The winners of those scholarships were:

Tabarek Kadhim
Jeremiah Washington
Rokiya Tucker
Janae Givens
Ryan Smith
Cydney Pepper
Hung Yu
Jordan Justice
Eirene Corea Rodriquez
James Castillo Sanchez
Sophie Wentworth
Sally Nsaif
Deonna Perry

But mark your calendars now for Saturday, November 2. That is the date for this year's banquet. It will be held at the University of Louisville Alumni Club. More details soon!
Seneca Past and Present New Logo

The Seneca Past and Present Board of Directors approved a new logo in May.  This logo will be rolled out on all of our various forms, website, newsletter, Facebook, Twitter etc.   We think it represents the past and present of Seneca High School pretty well.  Seneca Forever!
