HERE COMES

SUMMER!

Who's ready to get out on the water? We are! Lake Blue Ridge is beckoning for a boat day; the Ocoee and Nantahala have some of the best white water rafting in the south; and the Toccoa is miles of beautiful river to tube or kayak down. Woo hoo! What a place to be for summer!

We've compiled a guide to our favorite things in the area for a perfect weekend. Looking forward to your visit!

9AM

Breakfast at the inn

Let's start by filling up on our delicious, Southern breakfast at 9am. We start every morning with fresh fruit and a delicious homemade muffin. The main course might be biscuits and gravy, egg souffles, hashbrown casserole, french toast cups or fried eggs and ham. Rest assured it'll be delicious and fill you up for the big day ahead. Breakfast time is a great opportunity to meet other travelers staying at the inn, plan out the day, and compare stories of the night before.

11AM

Amicalola Falls

We'll drive about 30 minutes south to Ellijay and the foot of the tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi River: Amicalola Falls. The magnificence of this fall can't be overstated; it's really breathtaking any time of year. It'll take about an hour to hike up to the top and back down again, or you can drive to the top and enjoy the view.

1PM

The wineries

Now that we've gotten the blood pumping with a little hike, let's treat ourselves to some fantastic wines. There are lots of beautiful vineyards you'll pass on the drive, so stop in at any and check out the view. Chateau Meichtry, Ott Farms, Buckley, Fainting Goat and Cartecay are all along the way. There's often live music on Saturday afternoon, views that rival Northern California or the South of France, and food trucks if you're hungry.

Rest at the Inn

Whew, let's read a book or take a little nap on the front porch. You've earned it, so enjoy some peace and quiet at the inn for a while before dinner. We've got a few big porches with lots of rocking chairs to enjoy the afternoon breeze. Put together

a puzzle in the parlor, play chess in the library or a hand of cards in the kitchen. We also offer a selection of stamped Blue Ridge postcards for you to send notes to friends and family from your stay here.

7PM

Dinner

For a small little mountain town, we sure do have a lot of great restaurants to choose from. An embarrassment of riches really, not that we're complaining. Our guests always enjoy themselves at General Ledger, Whiskey & Water, Black Sheep, The Dogwood, Harvest on Main, Cucina Rustica, Masseria and so many more. Opening soon will be Roe, an oyster bar, and Grace, a new steakhouse.  And really, this is just scratching the surface. We're happy to point you in the right direction, depending on what you're looking for, so don't hesitate to ask us for suggestions when you make your reservation with us.

MEET THE TEAM:

CHERI' SCOTT

Y'all know Cheri' as our seasoned concierge (& housekeeper & chef & cat wrangler & well... she wears a lot of hats around here...) from Kentucky. She loves classic rock in the afternoon at the inn and some of her favorite artists are Fleetwood Mac, Prince, Van Halen, John Denver, Beatles, George Jones and Montley Crew. What are her favorite spots to eat in Blue Ridge? We'll let her tell you:

34th Degree Wine Merchant

Welcome to the neighborhood Emily and 34th Degree Wine Merchant! Just our luck that an awesome new neighbor has moved in right on the corner, steps from our front door, peddling wine! Outstanding selection of wines, super knowledgeable team and a welcome addition to Blue Ridge. Be sure to stop by and let her know you are staying at the inn.
