Reflections from Camp Miniwanca

A Lesson in Leadership

In mid-June, eight Hope Ignites Colorado scholars attended the American Youth Foundation’s National Leadership Conference at Camp Miniwanca.

This annual eight-day conference brings students together to develop, practice, and implement leadership skills that they can use throughout their lives.

In their reflections about the experience, scholars shared about the lessons they had learned in cultivating a willingness to be true to themselves while remaining open to others, the value in stepping outside of your comfort zone or to take risks where necessary, and to speak for change when it is needed.
