Parenting gifted or twice-exceptional children can present unique challenges. Dr. Lisa Hancock, licensed clinical psychologist, is offering a new support group session to share parenting concerns, learn about social-emotional needs, and gain support from others who have similar experiences. There will be 4-6 weekly meetings starting in April, summer, or this fall. Please fill out the quick form at the link below with your preferences for In-office (Torrance, CA) or Virtual; time of day; and more.

Therapy appointments are available for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in person or virtually. Our licensed psychologists have extensive experience providing couples, family, and individual psychotherapy and relationship coaching.

Concerns might include anxiety, depression, dysregulation, overcoming trauma, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck personally or professionally.

Gifted & Thriving’s fifth annual Gift-a-Palooza online summit will feature over 30 expert speakers, including Summit Center psychologist Dr. Lisa Hancock, Ph.D., MBA, on topics relevant to individuals and families in the gifted and multi-exceptional community.

Dr. Hancock will speak with independent consultant Sharon Duncan on Welcome to the Real World: Recognizing the Challenges Facing Gifted/2e Teens and Young Adults.

Presentations will be both live and recorded for the two day summit, April 24-25; the paid ticket allows ongoing access. Summit Center is a sponsor.

Summit Center friend and colleague Elizabeth Sautter is offering a free practical resource: sometimes when kids struggle to get started on things like homework, projects, or daily responsibilities, it is not about motivation. It can be related to regulation and energy levels in the brain and body. Elizabeth partnered with Emily Kircher Morris to create the Focus & Flow Toolkit to help kids and teens better understand how energy levels connect to focus and getting started with tasks.

Elizabeth is also offering an online workshop on regulation and resilience, again with Emily Kircher Morris, coming up on April 15. Get a 25% discount with code ROOTS25.

Summit Center friend and colleague, Julie Skolnick, hosts The Haystack, a private community for twice-exceptional adults seeking meaningful connection, insight, and support. Designed specifically for 2e adults, The Haystack provides expert-led webinars, twice-monthly community connection calls, a private 24/7 chat space, and access to an extensive on-demand resource vault. Julie has created a space where 2e adults can learn together, share openly, and feel understood alongside others who “get it.” Enrollment is currently open.
