Welcome to Summit Habitat’s Fall 2025 newsletter! We have been busy with new and continuing projects and have some exciting updates to share.

Restoring Safety, One Step at a Time

As part of our initiative to revitalize the Brush with Kindness program, last week Summit Habitat arranged a group of five volunteers to help a hardworking long term-term resident in need. The homeowner, who is a widower and caring for a special needs son while also working full-time in housekeeping, qualified for help with repairing hazardous items on their property. We assisted them with stoop railing and banister repair (including a full front stair replacement!), painting, and tree trimming work. This work will ensure that the homeowner and their family will be able to live safely in their home for many more years to come!

See below for before and after photos. Photos of the work in progress will be uploaded on our social media pages (linked at the bottom of this email) soon.

We are already looking for our next project to help more of our hardworking residents around the county! Please email us at admin@summithabitat.org if you or someone you know could use assistance.

A New Beginning for a Local First Responder

We’re celebrating the closing of a new home with a family who has recently put down roots. After moving here to take on a critical role in our community, this local first responder and their growing family of 3 (soon to be 4!) were living in a cramped 1 bedroom apartment that never quite felt like home.

With a young child and another on the way, they longed for stability, community, and a place where their children could thrive. “We toured the house and could envision our sons growing there,” they shared. “The more we think about it, the more excited we are to be part of a tight-knit community.”

Through affordable housing provided by Summit Habitat for Humanity, that dream is now a reality. This home means not just shelter, but opportunity, connection, and peace of mind. We’re thrilled to welcome this family into the Habitat neighborhood and so proud to support those who serve the people of Summit and Park County every day.

Help us Reach our Fundraising Goal!

We rely on our local Police Officers, Firefighters, Emergency Medical Personnel, and other first responders to keep our community and families safe - can we rely on you to chip in a few dollars to help us keep our projects on schedule and continue to help these vital employees and their families have a place to live and thrive? As the year comes to a close, your contribution, no matter the size, will help us close our gap for our 2025 fundraising goal, keep our projects on schedule, and help create long-term housing stability for more hardworking local families. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation using the link below.
