COMMUNITY UPDATES
From the Desk of the Executive Director
Happy Friday!

We have survived our first week of reopening amenities! All in all, residents are enjoying these areas and usage is going well. Please be reminded that the guidelines in place at these locations are either mandated by the state [licensing] or instituted for the best interest of users. Please respect the barriers in certain areas and use only the available facilities. Blocked off areas are not being sanitized/cleaned as other areas in efforts to utilize our available resources. User cooperation is essential to continue these offerings of enjoyment to members of the community.

As certain facilities and amenities reopened, please consider that it would be in the best interest for all of our residents, if anyone in our community who have used the facilities tests positive for COVID-19 to notify the Management Office, with their individual confirmed positive diagnoses. We realize that everyone is protected by the HIPPA law and we do not want to violate anyone’s rights or privacy, nor would we ever disclose the name of the person who has tested positive, but we would like to ensure that the area of use is properly sanitized and possibly closed. Further, we would communicate the positive test (without mentioning names) to anyone else who we could identify using the same facilities.
Thank you.

Be well and stay strong!

3 Scientifically Proven Health Benefits of Being a Kitten Parent
Kittens! Who does not love tiny, adorable kittens? We can’t resist their cute and furry charms. July 10th is National Kitten Day! Being a kitten parent certainly comes with proven health benefits.

1. KITTENS CAN LOWER YOUR RISK OF HEART DISEASE
Studies have found that owning a cat can lower triglycerides and cholesterol levels, which are indicators of heart disease.

2. THEIR PURRING HELPS TO HEAL BONES, TENDONS AND
MUSCLES
A cat’s purring has been associated with a therapeutic healing ability on human bones and muscle. A cat’s purr creates vibrations at a frequency between 25 and 150 Hertz that can improve bone density and promote healing.

3. KITTENS HAVE POWERFUL MENTAL HEALTH BENEFITS
Scientific studies have explored the benefits of the human-animal bond. Playing with your cat can elevate levels of serotonin and dopamine, which calm and relax.
