We pray that this newsletter and its contents that we share will help you on your daily journey with Christ, causing you to grow in the ways of the Lord.

The giftings of the fivefold ministry (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher) should have one purpose, and that is the teaching and equipping of the saints until we come into unity.

This is why we teach so that you can grow stronger in your faith until unity comes in the body of Christ. Take what you have learned and share it with others so that we can further the kingdom for Jesus Christ.

NO REMEDY

After the godly king Josiah died in a battle, there were several kings that followed him that did evil in the sight of the Lord. God sent many prophets, including Jeremiah, to warn the people that they needed to get right with God and repent.

2 Chronicles 36:15 says, “And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them [Judah] by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place [Jerusalem].

God warns us of impending judgment coming if we do not repent of our sin. God had compassion on his children in Judah and Jerusalem, but verse 16 says, “But they mocked the messengers [prophets] of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.”

This shows us that God is merciful, drawing us by his Holy Spirit to repent of our sin, and turn back to God. But when He is mocked and scorned it will be too late for some. The word “remedy” means cure, healing, soundness, wholesome, yielding. In other words, the choices mankind make are not God’s way. There is no yielding to the Holy Spirit. There is no repentance.

Verses 17-20 let us know what happens next.  Jerusalem was invaded; the men were slain and the old and young, maidens and children were all taken by the king of the Chaldees and brought to Babylon. All the holy vessels in the house of God were taken. The king, the princes and the treasures were all taken and the temple was burned along with the walls of Jerusalem broken down and the homes destroyed by fire.

Individually, corporately, and nationally, Jerusalem and Judah were stripped and taken into captivity because of their sin and would remain there for seventy years.

How sad that they did not repent before it was too late and there was “no remedy” except death, destruction, and degradation. God had been long suffering, but finally, he lifted his hand of protection.

In light of these scripture, we must examine our own lives and make sure there is no unrepented sin. Have we surrendered our whole life to God or are we still entertaining sin in some “secret” way? There are no secrets hidden from God. He sees all the good and the bad. Yes, he is longsuffering, but there comes a day when it will be too late to repent. There will be no remedy.

As Jeremiah prayed for his people, I pray for this nation that it returns to God. I pray for the churches and leadership to turn back to God. I pray for individuals to repent and turn back to God. When is the deadline for doing this before judgment comes? I do not know, but I sense it is soon.

If there is sin in your life, do something about it now.  Repent. Repentance means a change of heart, mind, actions, and deeds. We do not do things the way we used to do because we love God more than our sin. We must remember that for some there is no remedy because they were warned and mocked the warning. It will be too late for them.

Pray, repent, and live a life pleasing to God.
