Weekly Bible Quiz

Topic: “3 Days that Changed the World”

Fact: When Jesus shouted from the cross "It is finished," it was not a cry of loneliness or defeat, but a cry of achievement. He had accomplished what he had been born to do.

The Old Testament prefigures the cross of Jesus. God provided the Old Testament sacrifices (Leviticus 1-7) as a pointer to the way of salvation. The New Testament writers often refer to Jesus' death as a "sacrifice."

Quiz Question:  True or false? Whenever the New Testament speaks of the "blood" of Jesus, it is referring to his death. Email your answer to: [email protected].

The correct responses will be recognized in the following week's Bible quiz.

The answer to the previous question is: "Zechariah 11:12-13" and Rose Gitter responded! The previous quiz question was: "Which Old Testament book has a verse in it which is taken as a Messianic prophecy about Jesus being betrayed for 30 pieces of silver?" Email your answer to: [email protected]

Adult Ed:

The Augsburg Confession

You are invited to join us in the sanctuary at 10:45 am following the worship service for a new series on The Augsburg Confession. Made as a confession of faith during the Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century, the Augsburg Confession outlines the doctrinal teachings of the original Lutheran reformers. At the same time, it serves as a theological resource and statement of faith for Lutheran churches today.

This is a multi-session series that involves a reading and discussion of The Augsburg Confession, including a study guide booklet.
