Our Sunday Gathering continues to be a place to connect with one another as Unity Windward Study Group. This is a place to be inspired by spiritual teachings and practices that Rev. How to Overcome Adversity

It so often happens that just when our lives seem to be unfolding with the greatest ease, charm and grace we suddenly fall into an unexpected pit of difficulty, even adversity. Why does this happen, and how can we best manage or even prevent such adversity from infiltrating our lives? While many might simply shrug their shoulders and say, “Well, that’s just life!” or chalk such negative events up to karma, bad luck or bad timing, many spiritual masters disagree, reminding us that our thoughts and emotions indeed create our world. Furthermore, because we are in the midst of a momentous collective energetic shift, what Jesus called “the celestial speed-up,” everything is accelerated, causing our thoughts and emotions to manifest with lightning speed and extreme intensity. Thus, it is absolutely critical for us to become keenly vigilant of our thoughts and emotions in order to prevent the manifestation of circumstances we would not consciously create for ourselves.

Doorways to Higher Consciousness

Practice Lab

Unity Windward Study Group is holding monthly IN PERSON PREACTICE LABS at the end of each month, at various locations in order to practice the techniques accompanying major themes from our weekly Sunday 10:00 am zoom service. During this hour-and-a-half “practice lab,” we will immerse ourselves in focused practices such as pranayama, meditation, mantra and other spiritual experiments, discussing their impacts on our psyches, both short- and long-term. Meetings will be held at the end of the month.

All are welcome to attend. Please note that though attendance at our 10:00 am Sunday services is not a pre-requisite for participating in the monthly Practice Lab, Sunday service attendance is highly recommended in order to integrate weekly teachings into the practice, thus gaining maximum benefits.

February's Doorways to Higher Consciousness will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22, 10 am - 12 noon at Shirley Klippert's house. Park in the street and walk up the driveway. Make a right at the top of her driveway, and the entrance to her house is on the immediate right.  Shirley said the early birds can park in her driveway at the top of the hill.

Field Trips to Higher Consciousness

Unity Windward Study Group “Doorways to Higher Consciousness” invites you to join us on our monthly field trips whose mission is to create opportunities for expanding consciousness and accelerating spiritual growth. Our most recent field trip included a visit to a local healing center where we enjoyed a presentation on energy healing, exercises to open the chakras, guided meditation and individual healing sessions. We have many transformative trips planned for spring, including a visit to a Buddhist Zen meditation center, participation in a forgiveness workshop, and full moon meditation boat trip. To find out more, please contact Rev. Su Choy to join our mailing list. You may also wish to join our Sunday 10:00 am spiritual gatherings on Zoom. Details of activities will be announced at that time.

Our next field trip will be a boat trip in March, narrated by Captain Barry Choy. We will ride around points of interest in Kaneohe Bay, including Coconut Island and the sea turtle reefs, ending with a picnic on the sandbar. Date TBA.

The Giant Strides Lessons

 In the workbook of A Course in Miracles, Jesus has designated seven major lessons as “giant strides” in our learning process. Because these passages mark critical turning points in our understanding of our Divine Identity, we are called to spend time discussing and penetrating these lessons’ deeper meaning. Doing so, we build a firm foundation for the more advanced teachings to come. Class includes focused readings, meditations and supplementary exercises. All materials provided.
