"From Chaos to Calm and Panic to Peace"

How do we deal with our lives and world today when we feel a sense of chaos and panic around us and within us? Through stories and spiritual insight, we will discover how to turn chaos into calm and panic into peace.

Cynthia "CJ" Chappell, M.Ed., is currently the Project HI AWARE2 Administrator overseeing a nine million dollar grant and a team of twelve for the Hawai’i Department of Education in the state Office of Student Support Services. CJ has been an educator and counselor with over thirty years of experience at preK-12 schools and at the undergraduate and graduate university level. She has been a national presenter with the American School Counselor Association among many others and ran her own Learning Institute for twenty years.

CJ first joined Unity Church of Hawai’i at the age of thirteen. As leading Y.O.U., she learned the Unity teachings and participated in giving Sunday sermons as well as speaking at Unity Village two times. As an adult she was an advisor for Uniteens as well as Sunday school several times during the past several decades. CJ is a Licensed Unity Teacher Candidate and has gone through and participated in the Chaplaincy Training both at Unity Hawaii and Windward Unity. She co-led several book studies at Windward Unity in the past ten years and gave the Sunday sermon there on several occasions.

CJ enjoys growing up and living in Hawai’i with the cultural values of Aloha, Ohana (Family) and Nature through He'e Nalu (surfing) which connects with her strong faith in God. Being of service is her life's mission and helping others is her life's work.
