Church Re-Opening Plan
With Gov. Brian Kemp lifting most large gathering restrictions, and more individuals in our community receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, LaGrange First Methodist is planning for Phase 7 of its re-opening (as outlined by our Church Re-Opening Committee) to become effective on May 24, 2021, unless otherwise noted.

Protocols are subject to change if COVID-19 cases increase or requirements/mandates are changed by the CDC, local, or state governments. Please visit our website here for specific details outlining our re-opening.

Mission of the Month: Family Ministries
Through May 2, our Mission of the Month focuses on our Family Ministries program at LaGrange First Methodist. This program seeks to engage families with children from birth to age 18 through regular programming, special events, and meaningful outreach activities in our community such as our Bed Build held last fall and the recent community Easter Egg Hunt. You may support the team in two specific ways.
1. Volunteer: As more church activities resume in the coming months, the need for volunteers has never been greater. If you would be interested, please contact Youth Minister Will Locke or Children’s Minister Jeanne Jones.

2. Donate: Gifts made by check or online to “Missions” will help us prepare for First United Methodist Summer Day Camp that begins on June 1! After a summer off due to COVID-19, Summer Camp will be back and better than ever with fun, educational, and Christ-centered activities for children in our community. Donations will allow us to offer scholarships in partnership with organizations like Circles of Troup County to families who are hard-pressed to find adequate childcare this summer. In addition, funds will be used to make immediate playground enhancements to prepare s safe place for campers to gather, play, and learn. More extensive playground renovations will be made in the future as part of our overall campus facilities improvement plan.

Thanks in advance for helping us connect families in our community with the love of Jesus Christ!

Vernon Woods Shuttle Volunteers
Beginning this Sunday, we are offering our church bus as a shuttle for Vernon Woods’ church members to attend our morning worship services. We are so thankful to those of you who have volunteered to drive or ride with them so they can once again gather with the Body of Christ and worship their Savior in our great Sanctuary again!

If you would like more information and might be interested in periodically driving the bus or riding with another driver to assist in the transportation of residents, please reach out to Gail Dacus. Thanks in advance for your service and help!
