Fall Focus Study
Jesus Farewell Message
Church of the Big Wood is excited to invite you to participate in this year’s “Fall Focus,” entitled Jesus Farewell Message. Named after a RightNow Media series by author and pastor Francis Chan, this six week study focuses on Jesus’ actions and words on His last night before His crucifixion as described in John 13-17. While everything Jesus said is important, His heartfelt words to His disciples and His actions toward them on His last day on earth are especially significant for us to understand.
Our study this year will involve two coordinated parts:
1. Sunday Morning Messages: Our sermons on Sunday morning will be taken from John 13-17, and each week we will be challenged not just to hear Jesus’ important words but even more to actually begin to walk with and commune personally with Him.
2. Small Group Study: Our church's small groups will be studying the Sunday morning passage using the mentioned video material and study guide by Francis Chan. If you are not a member of a group, we will have a number of them available to join in the coming weeks.
While you are encouraged to study with one of our small groups, access to the material is available to individuals, and you are welcome to participate by doing the study on your own.
Access to Chan’s guided study (video and printable study guide) is through a subscription to RightNow Media. If you don’t have a subscription, CBW is making one available for free.
