Laughing with Lutherans
During my sermon an older woman fainted and struck her head on a pew. As an ambulance crew wheeled her out on a stretcher she motioned for her daughter, who thought she might be summoning strength to convey her final words. Instead, Mary whispered into her daughter's ear, "My offering is in my purse." This devoted steward made a full recovery.
