Churchwide Prayer Focus - Week 3
Prayers of Confession

Guided prayer for every day of the week:
Heavenly father, as we approach the throne of grace, we recognize our unworthiness and yet we humbly know that in Jesus name you hear our prayers. This week, we confess our weaknesses. We recognize that we make mistakes; we sometimes have a bad attitude; that at times we ignore doing what is right. We confess that sometimes, we just willfully decide to do wrong, knowing that our sin grieves your heart. As we pour our heart to you, we also ask that in your great mercy and grace, you renew our minds, hearts, thoughts and actions. With your help, we strive to be better than yesterday.

“Confession is essential if we truly recognize and believe in the coming of the kingdom. If we have kingdom eyes, the genius of our response is that we see where there is a disconnect. We cannot pray “your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” unless and until we see the ways that our lives are not lived in consistency with the will of God…we repent: we practice confession. Repentance, then, is not merely a matter of feeling bad about something we have said or done, but rather an act of intentional alignment—or better, realignment—with the coming of the reign of Christ .” –Teach us to Pray

Sunday— Lord Jesus, we confess and ask forgiveness, for the times we have not relied on you.
Monday – Lord Jesus, we confess and ask forgiveness, for the times we have fostered a critical spirit.
Tuesday— Lord Jesus, we confess and ask forgiveness, for closing our fists, instead of showing compassion to our neighbor.
Wednesday – Lord Jesus, we confess and ask forgiveness, for staying quiet, instead of speaking out in love.
Thursday – Lord Jesus, we confess and ask forgiveness, at the times we failed to keep our personal devotions.
Friday— Lord Jesus, we confess and ask forgiveness, for ignoring the Holy Spirit.
Saturday— Lord Jesus, we confess and ask forgiveness, for our lack of commitment to you and the church body.
Enjoy woship with the whole family today!

MISSIONS: Alabaster Sunday
February 17, 2019

What is Alabaster?
The Alabaster Offering provides funds for property and buildings around the world. While we understand the church consists of the people of God and not a building, buildings erected for the purpose of ministry help provide a sense of permanence, functionally enhance ministry efforts, and convey an attitude that the Church of the Nazarene intends to "put down roots." Alabaster funds help provide land for many Work & Witness projects, and the entire Alabaster Offering goes toward the purchase of land and construction of churches, schools, medical facilities, and homes for missionaries and national workers.

Cost is $1600.00 and includes airfare, lodging, mesals, transportation, and visa. A non-refundable $100 deposit is due by March 1, 2019. Payments of $375 are then due on the 1st of April, May, June, and July. For registration and additional information, please contact Nancy Long, South Texas District NMI President, here .
