Welcome to Farm Fiber Day at the Wayland Winter Farmers' Market, which takes place on Sunday, March 1, 2020
from 10 AM to 3 PM
in the lush greenhouses at Russell's Garden Center in Wayland, Massachusetts.
We will have 40 fiber vendors attending, seven for the first time,
including Tammy White from Wing & A Prayer Farm (above).

We will have a map of the fiber vendors locations,

and Ann Weaver conceived when touring the
Harrisville Designs Mill in New Hampshire. "Our yarns are woolen-spun at Harrisville and hand-dyed in Baltimore. We use a unique dyeing process that
distinguishes our yarn from all other yarns, both commercially dyed and hand dyed,"
says Ann, who is making the trip from Baltimore to join us.
Fitzwilliam Fiber Farms
is a women's agricultural collaborative
based in New Hampshire. "We raise two very old and rare breeds of sheep, Teeswater and Wensleydale. Our mission is preserving and promoting these breeds. Most of our product is natural colored, naturally processed roving from our own flocks,
" said Gretchen Wittenborg.
Look for this beautiful sweater "made from within 50 miles of the
home of the sheep" at their booth.
Don't miss the mohair socks, yarn, apparel and throws from
Moonshine Deign at Keldaby Farm, which is located in Colrain.
"We will bring raw Gotland fleeces, high-quality and well-skirted, breed-specific roving (natural and hand-dyed) from our Gotland,
Border Leicester, Merino, Llama and Alpaca. Handspun and
mill-spun yarn, locks and Farm cards," says Katie O'Donnell

I offered a Friday trial class. She (below) is 8 years old. This is
her work done in only a two hour session."
Windy Hill Farm

create homegrown, hand-dyed, hands-on wool and blended yarn, handwoven items, hand knits and roving for spinning and felting.
Looking for fine fiber tools? Stephen Willette will join us with
his handcrafted fiber art tools: looms, weaving tools (shuttles and
shed sticks), shawl pins, lucets, naalbinding needles, darning eggs, spindles, yarn bowls, buttons, seam rippers, hair sticks,
crochet hooks and tapestry needles.

declared champion in the White Fleece and Colored Fleece categories for the second year in a row
You don't have to have seen "Knives Out" to be aware of the
sensation created by the Aran sweater worn by Chris Evans in the movie.
A shopper attending the January Farm Fiber Day bought a sweater's worth of wool from Foxhill Farm when her son asked her to make one.

easy! "I am planning to bring four cotton dishtowels that
I recently finished and a new knitted shawl," she says. "We've also restocked hats and in anticipation of Farm Fiber Day!"

Katie Sullivan from

During the market, she got word from her husband that the first of her
50 ewes had just given birth to twins! She will be up at the farm this weekend, but her mother Judy will be with us to share the new
yarn as well as frozen lamb from the farm in Irasburg, VT.

Elihu Farm in Valley Falls, NY. "Well prepared raw fleeces will be for sale as a whole
fleece or partial. Our best fleeces frequently win blue ribbons,
as well
as 'best in show'
or reserve, including Eastern States Exposition (The Big E)."

has beautiful Icelandic yarn, both natural colored and plant dyed
and raw Icelandic fleeces.
Haley Bourke makes the trip from Farmington, CT to bring us BourkeKnits, adult and child sized knitted hats,
homemade pompoms and faux fur pompoms.
Friends in Fiber
Jan Lashua and Peg Critser bring hand dyed combed top,
including cashmere, yak, camel, mink and silk blends, a British
five-breeds combed top collection for a spinner's study,
Angora fiber and hand knits.
"My extended family owns a farm in Maine. The wool in my products
come from my sheep, says
Englishman Bay Trading Company's Alicia Monks. "I make sheep ornaments, dryer balls and wool rocks. I work with local artists to create the blankets, scarves and hats."

A Hundred Ravens will bring an assortment of our superwash yarns
in various weights and fibers, but primarily Merino wool," says
owner
Kel Bachus. "We will also have project bags,
stitch
markers, and knitting and crochet patterns."
Natural and dyed alpaca products are available from
Artisan Yarns from Hampden Hills Alpacas. Erica Jansons has
been working hard to create a large number of her popular dryer
balls after selling out immediately during the January Farm Fiber Day.
