Let’s get right to the point. Who do you need to FORGIVE? How about…who do you need to ask FORGIVENESS from? Sometimes, at least on the surface of it, it’s just easier to leave it all well enough alone. Bury it, ignore the issue, move on, give it up, break off the relationship…really? Is that what we should do? Is that what Christ would want us to do?
Forgiveness is a deeply powerful practice. When we refuse to extend Forgiveness to others, we open Pandora’s Box, and all sorts of “demons” come flooding out. Studies and experiences tell us that the lack of Forgiveness creates personal issues; problems like: struggles with mental health, psycho-somatic illnesses, and lasting, life-consuming bitterness. According to God’s Word, Unforgiveness is depilating to the health of a growing, deepening Faith in Jesus Christ. In other words, Faith struggles when you harbor Unforgiveness. Thankfully, our Lord God has a greater, healthier design for our souls. One that sets us free from our sins, pains, and brokenness. A plan that heals and redeems!
“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion…”. Psalm 103:2-4
Oh, to wear a genuine crown of love and compassion for others rather than bitterness and sickness!
Forgiveness is THE Gift from the Lord God that really does keep giving, not just for the whole year through, but for Eternity.
Join us Sunday, 10 a.m. at the Lakehouse in Watercolor as we continue to explore in a fresh new light THE LORD’S PRAYER: “LIBERATING FORGIVENESS!” We will experience together COMMUNION, breaking the Bread of Forgiveness and sharing the liberating Cup of Redemption!
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with Compassion, Kindness, Humility, Gentleness and Patience. Bear with each other and FORGIVE one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on Love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Colossians 3:12-14
*P.S. REMINDER: This Sunday is “Race Day” on 30a. The Seaside Half-Marathon begins at 7:00 a.m. It’s usually over by 9:30 a.m. Be prepared to come to the Watercolor Lakehouse off 395 to Western Lake Road…around to the Lakehouse. You may not have to deal with any road closure…but just in case!
