Yesterday Russell and I went out of town to honor our grandson who graduated. We are especially proud of him because he graduated with honors. Years and years of hard work have paid off for him and now he will start on a new road in life. What lies ahead can only be known by God, who reveals each step of the plan he has for him as he trusts God.
Graduation day is happening all over the country this month. It is totally different this year because of the lockdown. Many young people have had their entire lives changed with the chaos that is everywhere. They missed out on many things during three months of lockdown. Many are in fear of what the future brings, and perhaps rightly so. There are riots and lootings and innocent people have been killed.
In spite of all that is going on, there is another graduation day for each of us, and that is the day that we graduate from our mortal bodies into immortality. Those that know Christ will shed their fleshly bodies and receive a new glorified body that is free of sin and disease. What a day that will be when we enter into our “reward.”
What about those that don’t know Christ? What about their graduation? Sadly, they will be launched into a place that is full pain of torment. Interesting enough, it is their choice to go there and they too will receive their “reward.” You see, my friends, God never intended hell to be a place for mankind. It was created for Satan and the fallen angels. Man makes the choice to go there or not. If he chooses to surrender his life to Jesus, he graduates to Heaven. If not, he graduates to hell.
My grandson will always remember his graduation day, but he has another graduation that will take place in the future. I am secure in the fact that I know where he will graduate to, because he made the choice to invite Christ into his life.
There are millions of people both young and old that have not made that choice. Let us be a witness about our soon coming graduation so they too can receive the highest reward—eternal life.
