20 Years of Favorites

This season the Bach Cantata Choir has been celebrating its 20th year of singing together. Many thanks to those who have supported us by your faithful concert attendance and your gifts during these years.

For this special anniversary concert, we invited your suggestions and noted the requests for audience participation. Ideas came from the choir, orchestra, soloists, and audience. The resulting program includes selected movements from many of our favorite works from the past 20 years. The audience is invited to sing three different chorales, and three of our (many) favorite soloists will take part.

Vakarė Petroliūnaitė,
soprano

Jacob William Herbert, bass.

Founding member, BCC

A Matching Opportunity

To help celebrate the Bach Cantata Choir’s 20th anniversary season, we’d like you to consider making an extra donation. Our audience, and especially our sponsors, have been incredibly generous over the years. But 20 years is an amazing milestone and deserves some extra attention.

To show our commitment to this 20th anniversary celebration, the Bach Cantata Choir Board has pledged $2,500 as a matching fund, over and above the other donations they've made. We will match any contributions received between now and the day of the concert up to $2,500. Click here to give through PayPal or use the Support the Choir button at the bottom of this page.

Thank you for your ongoing support, your attendance, your contributions, and your voices as you join the choir in singing chorales. We look forward to seeing you at 2:00 pm on June 7 at the German American Society on NE 57th and Sandy.

Next Season: Bach's St. Matthew Passion

Thanks to all who attended the Mass in B-Minor concert in March. It was an honor to present this moving masterpiece.

During the 2026-27 season, we plan to present another major work: Bach's St. Matthew Passion. April 2027 will mark the 300th anniversary of its first performance which was held at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig. Because of its length, we will spread the work over three concerts. The passion focuses on Jesus' final days as told in Matthew 26-27. This great masterpiece is scored for soloists, double chorus, and an enlarged orchestra. The work also features some of Bach's most beloved chorales including "Ah, Holy Jesus" and "O Sacred Head Now Wounded."

Concert dates for next season will be announced at a later time.

Save the Dates (remember the venue change for June 7)
